Early Adversity

David Hunter Moore overcame considerable adversity, particularly throughout his teen years, to become the business success he is today.

At the beginning of seventh grade, David Moore of Hernando broke both hips, a debilitating injury that forced Moore to remain bedridden for more than nine months. But after more than 16 surgeries - and an initial prognosis that he would never walk again - Moore worked through this intense physical struggle and achieved a near-complete recovery.

Several years later, Moore faced the passing of his father, and shortly thereafter dropped out of high school. He then moved into his late father’s home and, to pay the mortgage, took a job with the restoration firm Advantage One.

Building a Career

It wasn’t long after joining Advantage One that David Hunter Moore worked his way into a leadership role, though early attempts at acquiring the company fell short. Moore soon set out on his own and established a lumping company, positioning himself for the successful acquisition of Advantage One at the age of 20.

By that time, David Moore had also grown the Hernando-based Moore Advanced, Inc., into a $4 million company, setting himself apart as an innovator and rising star in the local business community.
